Former Sunway’s A level student is the Toastmaster Champion

Aaron Ng Ji Yeon, former Sunway’s A level student pitted against seven native speakers from across Victoria, Australia and won first place at the 2014 District 73 International Speech Contest, organised by Toastmasters International in Melbourne.

Aaron is a Business Commerce student in Monash University Caufield. He transferred from Monash University Malaysia in 2013. Prior to that, Aaron did his A levels at Sunway College Kuala Lumpur.

Demonstrating emotional and mesmerising presentation skills with his inspirational speech on humility, Aaron will continue to speak in the 83rd Annual International Convention, also known as the World Championship of Public Speaking in August at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The upcoming competition will be the first for Toastmasters in its 89-year history to hold such an event outside North America.

For Aaron, the International Convention is a stage for world class public speakers with spectacular and soul-stirring speeches, and a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people.

“I am incredibly happy to have made it this far especially with the support of my friends and family. I can’t wait to get among other great public speakers and test myself further, this will be a truly fantastic event,” said Aaron.

Sunway College congratulates Aaron for his outstanding achievement and wishes him the best of luck on the international stage.
