Mark’s Life in 3-D charmed judges

Malaysian Mark Lester Johnson participated in The Star-ESU Malaysia-SEGi Public Speaking Competition 2012 held recently at Eastin Hotel, Petaling Jaya to gain experience but did not think he would emerge 1st runner-up of the competition. The 18 year-old lad is currently enrolled in the Sunway A-Level programme. Mark who has been participating in public speaking competitions since a tender age of 12 said the experience he attained was incredible. “I never expected to win 1st runner-up for the competition especially since there were many speakers who were well-equipped with higher speaking capabilities and presentation.”

Mark, Sunway A-Level student walked away with cash prize worth RM1,000 after emerging 1st runner-up in The Star-ESU Malaysia-SEGi Public Speaking Competition 2012.

RUN FOR EDUCATION Sunway College raised funds to sponsor tuition for underprivileged children

Bandar Sunway, 16 April, 2012 – As part of Sunway Education Group's 25th Anniversary, Sunway College launched the inaugural Sunway College Run for Education (“the Run”) which was held on Sunday 8 April at 7 am.

The 5.1 kilometer (km) route around Bandar Sunway saw the participation of roughly 400 students, staff and members of the public who jointly raised approximately RM4,000 to support this noble cause. The organising chairperson who originally mooted the idea is Steve Thong Jun Nam, a student of the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY), a pre-university programme offered by Sunway College.

Bound for Ivy league and top universities

After much perseverance and work, a group of 10 students who scored straight As after sitting the November 2011 A-Level examinations were invited to a tea gathering hosted by Sunway College recently before they began their university studies overseas. Joined by a few others at the tea, most of the 10 said they were grateful to the helpful lecturers in the A-Level programme and proud to be in this group.
