Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Provides Five a Firm Foundation for a Brighter Future

Last year, a deadly earthquake struck Nepal killing more than 8,800 people, injured more than 23,000 and triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest killing at least 19, marking April 25, 2015 the deadliest day on the mountain in history. Aside from the loss of life, was the widespread devastation; entire villages flattened and centuries-old buildings destroyed.

In lieu of the devastation the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF) committed RM1 million worth of scholarships to the Mercy Malaysia’s Nepal Relief Fund last year to provide students affected by the earthquake the opportunity to take up further studies at Sunway.
