For this year’s MIA-Sunway TES AQ, team ACCA Eliza from SMK Saint Elizabeth, Sarawak emerged Champion under the Team Category. The team comprised of Aserah Anak Jawi, Cynthia Ling Zhen Yee and Ling Yii Fei, each won a scholarship worth RM50,000 for studies in accountancy programmes offered at Sunway College. The team also took home RM2,100 cash prize.

Cheng Pooi Shan, Daniel Seen Li Tao and Lim Jun Qing, team Little Boy of SMK USJ13, Selangor took the 1st Runner-up spot, winning themselves RM13,000 each in scholarship and a total RM1,500 cash prize.
Coming in 2nd Runner-up was team Task Killer from SMK Damansara Jaya, Selangor, comprised of Justin Ong Jin Way, Tey Tiong Ming and Yeong Weng Siong, the team members won themselves a scholarship of RM6,500 each and RM900 cash prize.

Under the Individual Category, Chin Qi Wei from SMJK Perempuan China Pulau Pinang, Penang bagged the first prize, winning herself a scholarship worth RM50,000 and RM600 cash prize. Second prize winner Ting Ying Ying of SMK Saint Elizabeth, Sarawak took home RM13,000 in scholarship and RM400 cash prize while third prize winner Andrew Pang Yong Chen of SMK Gajah Berang, Melaka clinched RM6,500 in scholarship and a cash prize of RM200.
For the final stage of the AQ 2016, 15 teams from 9 schools from 5 states competed under the Team Category. For the Individual Category, 15 students from 12 schools from 7 states competed in the final stage.

AQ 2016 is a competition jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as strategic partner.
