Cherlyn, who is awaiting replies from a few UK universities said, “The CIMP was a great experience. It gave us room and flexibility to pursue our diverse interests and tapped our potentials. The lecturers who were approachable and wonderful were integral to the experience. I was always able to turn to them for guidance. I’m really grateful for my time in CIMP.”

Md Abu Sayed, who hails from Bangladesh was honoured as the Valedictorian of the graduation. The Valedictorian is customarily nominated by the teachers and voted by the graduating class. Md Abu Sayed had also contributed in programme’s extra-curricular activities and was a good student.

Simerpreet Kaur, a Malaysian, received the Programme Award for her above 90% average in her marks and her active involvement in various CIMP activities. She received her award from the Director of the CIMP, John Futa. She was an active participant in the CIMP Choir, Talent Night, Editorial Board January-June 2012 and was a Sunway Ambassador. Simerpreet will be pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at Monash University, Sunway campus starting this year.

There were 192 graduates in total with 10 graduates achieving more than 90% average and 68 graduates had an average of more than 80% which was remarkable. The Guest of Honour at the graduation was Robert Burley, Senior Economic and Political Counsellor, High Commission of Canada, Malaysia.
The CIMP is an international pre-university programme at Sunway College following the Canadian Year 12 curriculum mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Education, Canada. 80% of the teachers in the CIMP at Sunway College are Ontario (Canadian) certified teachers. CIMP students have a chance to participate in community service programmes approved by the CIMP during the course of their studies.
