Sunway Education Institutions Rank No 1 For Employability In Asia

Bandar Sunway, April 20 ~ The global benchmark for the student experience, the Student Barometer Survey Entry Wave 2014 revealed that institutions in the Sunway Education Group are achieving high student satisfaction for graduate employment. The score for a combined group of students surveyed from Sunway University and Sunway College was the highest out of 15 Asian institutions for ‘Employability’. A high score was also achieved for the Learning Overall experience (highest out of 7 institutions surveyed in Malaysia).

The Survey undertaken by i-graduate, tracked feedback from over 2 million students from 1,400 universities, colleges, schools and government agencies across 30 countries. In Asia, over 32,000 students participated in the Survey.

The Survey tracks and compares the decision-making, expectations, perceptions and intentions of students from application to graduation. Education institutions are evaluated across eight scopes which includes decision-making, application process, enquiry to acceptance, arrival and orientation, the learning experience, the living experience, support services and likelihood of recommendation to others.

High scores were also achieved in the area of living experience especially in elements such as financial support, safety, and host friends. In the support services area, high scores were given by the students for personal tutors, the graduate school, careers service, and counselling.

Under the benchmarking teaching section, the combined group of international students from Sunway University and Sunway College gave the highest score out of 7 institutions in Malaysia for expert lecturers, programme content, quality lecturers, programme organisation, academics’ English, performance feedback, good teachers, research, and marking criteria.

Guy Perring, Director of Client Services, Asia, for i-graduate said, “One of the most important considerations when it comes to selecting an education institution for both parents and students in Asia, is the ability to secure a job in a globally competitive marketplace. The results for Sunway University and Sunway College are a powerful testament of how education institutions can integrate employability into the curricula; thus securing their students’ futures.”

Senior Executive Director, Sunway Education Group, Dr Elizabeth Lee said that, “We are absolutely delighted with the results of the Survey. The results provide a welcome affirmation of the high quality of our educational delivery and the overall learning experience of our students.”
