Sunway’s AUSMAT continue to produce quality graduates

Sunway College’s Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT) 2011 students recently graduated in a ceremony themed “And the stars go marching on” at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa.

Katryne Chia Phei Shan and Ooi Sze Hong received three Best Academic Achievement Awards (BAAA) for emerging top scorer for three subjects. Katryne was top scorer for 3 subjects; Chemistry, Physics, and Politics and Law and Ooi for Maths Specialist, Accounting and Finance and Economics. Lim Choon Chung and Joel Justin Anak George both received two BAAA for being the top scorers in Accounting and Finance and Chemistry and Maths 3A3B and Psychology respectively. 13 BAAA were given out in total during the graduation ceremony.

The Sunway AUSMAT graduates will continue to shine in pursuit of their dreams.

Alliyza Esther Lim Qin Shi took home two High Academic Achievement Awards (HAAA) for Maths 3A3B and Psychology while Tsai Xinn Chiann was awarded the HAAA for Accounting and Finance and AAA for Biology. The HAAA is an award given for students who have achieved commendable results over two consecutive terms of an academic year. A total of 11 HAAA’s were given out during the 2011 AUSMAT graduation ceremony.

Valedictorian, Keefe Chan said, “I’m sure every one of us will leave AUSMAT with wonderful memories of friends and lecturers. What I say on stage cannot possibly capture the depth and breadth of experiences we've had in this programme.” He added, “I have little doubt that plenty of talent lies within this hall as some of you might even go on to be tomorrow's captains of industry.”

The Sunway AUSMAT JPA scholars were all smiles after the Graduation Ceremony.

Sunway College is known for being the largest and the longest running provider of AUSMAT (Australian Year 12) in Malaysia. Their lecturers are rated top in ‘excellent teaching and assessment’ by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia’s Annual Examiner’s Reports while its students have been consistently ranked amongst the best in Western Australia and the Western Australia programme worldwide.
