Sunway Education Group Green Efforts Extends to E-Waste Disposal

~Working Towards Sustainability and A Greener Environment for All~

An annual initiative by the Sunway Education Group, the e-Waste Disposal Campaign on campus was carried out from 25 till 27 October 2016, from 9am till 3pm. Unwanted electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, batteries, chargers, and other electronic components belonging to staff and students were disposed via e-Waste collection bins placed in strategic locations throughout the campus.


A joint effort by IT Services Department together with Safety and Health Department, and Facilities Department of the Sunway Education Group, the collected e-Waste is to be properly disposed by Meriahtek, a certified vendor of Department of Environment (DOE) which advocates and supports restoration of the environment in order to preserve a cleaner and greener environment. Meriahtek is to collect the e-Waste for Sunway Education Group twice a year.


The campaign was officially launched by Dr Elizabeth Lee, Senior Executive Director of Sunway Education Group, in the presence of Tony Lee, Director of IT Services Department, Sunway Education Group; Datuk Jason Yee, Executive Director of Meriahtek (M) Sdn Bhd; William Ung, Managing Director of Meriahtek (M) Sdn Bhd; Joel Tan, President of Sunway College Student Council and Natasha Ting Zet Ping, Vice President of Sunway University Student Council.
