Flexibility with MUFY Programme at Sunway College

“I chose the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) programme because of the fair distribution of scores across the internal and external examinations. The past twelve plus years as a student, I have always hated the concept of having my future resting on a single paper at the end of my semester. MUFY gave me the option to devise my study schedules to fit my personal preference” said Ng Jee Hong, an alumnus of the MUFY programme at Sunway College.

From the Talent Quest, many learnt to showcase their talents and tap their untapped potential. But most importantly was what we learnt on a day to day basis which were life lessons such as constantly being on our toes, leadership qualities, perseverance, strength and so much more.”

Sunway’s MUFY Students Take to the Streets

“This experience made me realise how fortunate we are - these people don’t even have a place to stay and they survive on the food that people give to them. This trip really changed how I think and made me appreciate what I have now”, said Cherlyn Ong.

Ong together with thirteen students and six lecturers from the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) programme at Sunway College participated in the Global Street Mission (GSM) Street Outreach Feeding Program at Jalan Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. GSM is a non-governmental organisation that reaches out to the downtrodden and marginalised community in Chow Kit.

It’s all about ‘Sharity’ and Unity with MUFY

If anything, the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) students are well-aware and more than willing to be a part of the MUFY ‘Sharity’ Carnival, a charity event organised annually. ‘Sharity’, held at the Energy Hub cafeteria was overflowing with energy as teachers and students made their way over to purchase delicious food and drinks, fashionable clothes, games, beautiful accessories and even pampered themselves with manicures and pedicures.
